TRISTAN PERRIER, AUTHOR'S PERSPECTIVE ON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Professional wedding photographer in Bordeaux, France, I have been documenting weddings with passion since 2016.
What brings me the greatest joy is preserving one of the most beautiful days of your life on film. Emotion lies at the very heart of my work.
I strive to bring a gaze filled with humanity, sensitivity and poetry to the couples I photograph.
Capturing, with authenticity and spontaneity, the beauty of a moment — a loving glance, a tender gesture, spontaneous laughter or tears of joy — all those fleeting instants that will remain cherished memories forever.
So many images (for you as for me), so many subtle details revealing a magnificent love story. Yours.

HOW I BECAME A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I have always wanted to become a photographer. Today I am a destination wedding photographer based in Bordeaux, documenting weddings throughout France and beyond.
My fascination with images began in childhood, perhaps the day my grandparents gave me a small film projector for Christmas. I was six years old. Soon after, I discovered the magic of film photography, and this fascination for such a beautiful artistic medium has never left me.
Although I have always felt like an artist at heart, it took me time to allow myself to dedicate my life entirely to photography, not only as an amateur. Thanks to the unwavering support and encouragement of my wonderful wife Magali and our three children, Margaux, Luca and Romane (all truly extraordinary), I found the courage to leave my position as a sales director and finally devote myself fully to my dream.
My wife often reminded me that I was a true artist, yet somehow I was the only one who had not realised it.
Creating a Meaningful Connection
Finding the right wedding photographer is not always easy, I understand that.
Before the wedding day, I take the time to build a meaningful relationship with my couples. It usually begins with a first meeting where we simply take the time to get to know each other (either at your home or in a place of your choice), followed by regular conversations leading up to the wedding day so that a true relationship of trust can grow.
I want to learn everything about you, or almost everything : how your love story began, what made your meeting unique, romantic or perhaps amusing. With kindness and genuine interest, I listen to your most beautiful memories and immerse myself in your anecdotes.
Creating this connection with my couples is essential to me. It strengthens over time and allows me to truly understand your expectations and your vision for your wedding day.
I am an approachable person and I want my couples to feel comfortable and completely at ease with me. On the wedding day, it should feel as if a trusted friend is there to witness your happiness.
Communication, authenticity and sincerity are values that matter deeply to me.
I place great importance on human relationships that feel genuine, warm and effortless. At the heart of my work as a wedding photographer lies the quality of the connection I build with the couples I photograph.

Your Wedding Story
In the months leading up to your wedding, we take the time to thoughtfully plan the photography of your day together.
The story usually begins with the preparations, the make-up, the hair styling, the wedding dress, the groom getting ready, and those precious moments shared with family. These moments often carry a unique atmosphere, filled with anticipation and emotion.
Surrounded by their closest circle, couples sometimes move from laughter to tears as the excitement of the day gently builds. These early moments allow for images filled with sensitivity, natural portraits of the couple, meaningful details of the preparations, and beautiful moments with loved ones.
Then come the highlights of this unforgettable day: the first look, the ceremony, the couple session for a quiet moment together, the cocktail reception with candid portraits of your guests, and finally the celebration that follows.
My goal is to document the full story of your wedding day and capture every meaningful moment.
From the very next day, I begin working on your photographs while the emotion of the celebration is still vivid. Over the following days in my studio, I carefully curate and refine the images, selecting, adjusting and retouching when necessary, to complete the artistic storytelling of your wedding.

Engagement & pre-wedding sessions in France
An engagement or pre-wedding session is a photo shoot that usually takes place a few months before the wedding day, allowing couples to create beautiful images together before their celebration.
It allows couples to create beautiful images together while becoming more comfortable in front of the camera before the ceremony. Very often, couples feel a little shy during their first photographs, which is perfectly natural. Standing in front of a photographer’s lens is not something people experience every day.
This is why I often recommend this session to my couples. It is a wonderful way to get to know each other better and to feel completely relaxed on the wedding day.
The idea is simply to spend a moment together filled with laughter and connection, without any pressure, except celebrating your engagement. We can choose together a romantic location: a café, a park, the place where you first met, or a beach along the Atlantic coast.
Each time, it is a true pleasure for me to photograph these special moments. I particularly love capturing these romantic instants, filled with smiles, tenderness and genuine connection.
Beyond helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera, the engagement session also allows you to create beautiful couple photographs that you can display at home or share with your loved ones.
Another lovely idea: these photographs can also be used to illustrate your wedding invitations.
My approach blends the elegance of Fine Art with an editorial sensibility inspired by magazine photography.
Light, textures and composition are carefully refined, while leaving space for spontaneous moments and genuine emotion.
Each wedding is told with softness, authenticity and a timeless artistic perspective.

WEDDING & EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER IN BORDEAUX
In the Bordeaux region, I am among the few photographers offering this distinctive approach to wedding photography, a style that is becoming increasingly recognised and appreciated by modern couples.
Trained in Fine Art photography alongside renowned artists, I have developed my own aesthetic style over the years, shaped by my artistic sensitivity and now focused on weddings and editorial imagery.

Natural and luminous photography
My photographs are luminous and soft, with a palette dominated by whites and delicate pastel tones, sometimes complemented by black-and-white images.
I love working with natural light, which beautifully enhances both places and people. For portraits in particular, nothing is more flattering than daylight.
My images also retain an authentic photographic grain, historically associated with film photography. This gives wedding images a distinctive look — elegant, poetic photographs where emotion seems almost embedded in the film itself.
My signature is rooted in the heritage of Fine Art photography while embracing a contemporary editorial direction inspired by fashion and editorial imagery.
One of the defining characteristics of editorial photography is the way it tells a story through an artistic lens.
Each image captures a moment in time and reveals something about the couple and their journey together. My work is dedicated to telling your unique love story, what connects you and what belongs only to you.
Composition is also an essential element of editorial photography. Like a painter composing a canvas, the photographer carefully selects the elements that will appear within the frame.
Images are often taken vertically (what is commonly called portrait format). The subject frequently appears near the bottom of the image, leaving generous negative space above, allowing the viewer’s gaze to wander and the imagination to travel further.
An old chapel, a bouquet slightly undone, an olive tree along the path, a wedding dress hanging by a window, a stolen kiss, all evocative details.
Some weddings take place in iconic venues such as Château de Crazannes, where the light and the architecture create the perfect setting for editorial wedding photography.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WORKS ARE THOSE WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MATERIAL
Editorial or Artistic Photography
As a Fine Art wedding photographer in France, I draw inspiration from the work of some of the most renowned editorial wedding photographers, frequently published in magazines such as Wedding Sparrow, Magnolia Rouge and Amber & Muse.
I have also had the honour of being featured by Magnolia Rouge and Amber & Muse in recent years, and this year in the prestigious British print magazine TATLER.
The American photographer José Villa, considered one of the most influential photographers of the early 21st century, is among the pioneers of this aesthetic approach. When digital photography emerged twenty-five years ago, he chose to continue photographing weddings on film, carefully overexposing his images to achieve the celebrated Fine Art rendering.
Many photographers today describe themselves as “hybrid”, a category I also belong to — combining digital photography with film when desired, while aiming in post-production to achieve a look that remains very close to the authentic aesthetic of film.
Passionate about artistic photography, I would be delighted to share with you my inspirations and to talk more about these artistic influences during our conversations.

What a beautiful region Bordeaux is to celebrate a wedding!
Bordeaux is one of the most beautiful destinations in France for a wedding.
I am a wedding photographer based in Bordeaux and I travel throughout France and internationally.
As a professional wedding photographer based in Bordeaux (33000), I know the city in all its details. Over the years, I have discovered many beautiful places where I enjoy creating portraits and wedding images.
For me, the cobbled streets of Bordeaux have become a true playground.
Place de la Bourse, the Allées de Tourny, Place des Quinconces, the Public Garden, Place de la Comédie, the Chartrons district or Saint-Michel — all these iconic locations offer unique settings for elegant portraits.
As a wedding photographer in Bordeaux, I know the city and its hidden corners intimately.
WEDDINGS IN BORDEAUX REGION
The Bordeaux region is also a wonderful place to photograph weddings.
I regularly document weddings in Gironde, around the Arcachon Bay, at Cap Ferret, as well as in Saint-Émilion and the Médoc.
City, countryside, forests of pine trees, dunes and beaches, vineyards and historic estates — such a diversity of landscapes constantly inspires my creativity.
Château Wedding Venues in France
France offers some of the most beautiful château wedding venues in Europe.
Because choosing the right venue is an essential part of a wedding, I am always delighted to recommend remarkable places across France.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of photographing weddings in elegant estates and charming venues where unforgettable celebrations come to life.
