Marie and Olivier's Wedding at Château Gassies

Real Weddings

Welcome to Château Gassies for Marie and Olivier’s wedding, at the beginning of summer 2021. Let’s look back together at this beautiful wedding day at Château Gassies in Latresne, a venue for high-end weddings just outside Bordeaux.

Château Gassies in Latresne: an Exceptional Venue for Weddings and Celebrations

Peaceful and tucked away, only ten minutes from Bordeaux, Château Gassies welcomes weddings, corporate events and families for a moment suspended in time. The château looks out over the Garonne and the city of Bordeaux from its hilltop in Latresne. This former wine estate, built in the 18th century, was beautifully restored by its new owners a few years ago.

This château, so typical of the Bordeaux region’s heritage, has lost none of its character or charm.

Its highlights? A formal French garden, a panoramic view over the Garonne from the terrace and its two heated swimming pools, and a listed, century-old cedar. There is also a grand reception hall with pale stone walls, a high ceiling with exposed beams, and a refined, carefully chosen decor. Not to mention impeccable service and a warm welcome.

You can discover the venue in more detail on my Château Gassies wedding photographer page.

Meeting Marie and Olivier

Marie and Olivier’s wedding was yet another truly unique day.

I was lucky enough to meet them through Élodie, Marie’s sister. I had taken the photos for her wedding couple photoshoot, because I had not been able to photograph her wedding itself.

The reason? I was photographing Olivia and Olivier’s wedding at Château d’Argeronne in Normandy on the day she had wanted me for her own wedding.

Élodie even travelled specially from Lille with her husband for that photoshoot. And it was those photos that made Marie decide to contact me.

I met Marie and Olivier the year before their wedding, in their lovely family cocoon, with their two adorable young daughters.

Their wedding took place at the beginning of this summer, surrounded by their families and friends. Everyone was dazzled by this sublime venue and by all of the couple’s thoughtful touches.

Marie and Olivier put a great deal of themselves into preparing their wedding. They worked hard on every detail of the decoration and of their witnesses’ outfits, to give their wedding a beautiful visual harmony.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank them once again for their kindness towards me.

As an aside, for anyone passionate about film photography: I have the professional equipment needed to cover weddings and engagement sessions on film, always in my Fine Art style. It is available as an option, on request. If you are interested, we can talk it through and plan your future photo session together.

Talent and so much more…

"Tristan is a gem, both as a person and as a photographer! From our very first meeting right up to the wedding, he gave us great advice. Tristan knew how to reassure us, guide us and put us at ease in front of the camera, which was no small feat. He even managed to make it a really enjoyable moment for us, thanks to his professionalism and his good humour. Deeply sensitive and generous, he knows how to capture the most intense emotions of the guests and of the bride and groom. He really cares about knowing who he is going to photograph on the day, which is very much appreciated and a real plus that shows in his work. The laughter, the tears, the tender looks: nothing escapes him! Tristan is everywhere he needs to be on the day, while making himself invisible. That day, he was part of the family. We could not have dreamt of anyone better to be with us and capture those magical moments. We are delighted with our wedding photos, which were delivered very quickly, and not without emotion. We will see each other again very soon for a family photoshoot. We recommend him without reservation: go for it with complete confidence!" Marie & Olivier, Latresne, France
