Getting married at Domaine de Larchey means celebrating the authenticity of a terroir: the south of Gironde, where the Bordeaux vineyards meet the great pine forest of the Landes de Gascogne. Domaine de Larchey is not actually in the Landes, but in Gironde. Yes, really! Saint-Médard-d’Eyrans lies in south Gironde, which is very close to the north of the Landes, and the Landes de Gascogne forest stretches into Gironde.
In the Heart of Pessac-Léognan, Cradle of the Great Wines of Bordeaux
The old farmstead became a wine estate, and its location is no coincidence.
The château of Domaine de Larchey sits on a soil that is extremely precious for winemaking: the Graves. The Pessac-Léognan appellation is known throughout the world for its red wines and its dry whites, of a unique and unrivalled quality.

Domaine de Larchey Restaurant
Le 1930 is the name of the restaurant at Domaine de Larchey.
The restaurant is open to everyone, not only to couples holding their wedding dinner there.
South-West French cooking awaits you! Come and discover the flavours of our beautiful region and taste the wines of the Graves. All the produce is fresh and seasonal, so the menus change with the seasons.
All of Le 1930’s suppliers are in the Bordeaux or Landes areas (Martillac, Bazas, Bordeaux, Marsolan, Landiras, Bègles, Hourtin). Every dish is cooked on site, to order.
Le 1930 is a bistronomy concept, run with real mastery in the kitchen.
If you would like a brunch during your wedding weekend, the estate can organise a Sunday brunch for you and your guests.
The Aliénor Reception Room for Your Wedding at Domaine de Larchey
The estate’s reception room is named Aliénor, in tribute to Eleanor of Aquitaine, Duchess of Aquitaine.
It can host your cocktail hour and wedding dinner, as well as an indoor symbolic ceremony if you wish.
For an outdoor symbolic ceremony, the grounds are vast: 1,000 square metres just for you, beneath the estate’s century-old oaks and surrounded by tree-lined, flower-filled gardens.
The Hidden Chapel of Domaine de Larchey
Your couple photos will be unique, because Domaine de Larchey hides something unusual for a former farming and wine estate: a chapel! The Saint-Christophe chapel makes a beautiful backdrop for your wedding portraits and romantic photos.
Good to know: for a very intimate wedding of up to 50 guests, the chapel can also host your ceremony. Mention it to the owners when you contact them.
Staying at the Hotel
Domaine de Larchey is a 3-star family-run hotel of charm, so you and your guests can stay for one night or the whole weekend. Its rooms and suites are spread across two buildings, one from the original farmstead and one modern, recently restored, each decorated differently in the spirit of the place:
- Standard room, 18 m², overlooking the courtyard, for 1 or 2 guests, with a king-size bed or two single beds, and a shower room.
- Superior room, 30 m², for 2 guests, overlooking the courtyard and the garden or countryside, with a bath and a shower.
- Family suite, 60 m², for 2 adults and 2 children, with a king-size bed, a sofa bed and a shower room.
The hotel is also a natural base for couples marrying at a nearby château in the Pessac-Léognan vineyards: one of my couples who married at Château Smith Haut Lafitte stayed at Domaine de Larchey and got ready there on the morning of their wedding.

Laure & Maxime. Married in July 2020, they had a gentle, romantic wedding in the estate’s gardens, with a bouquet of peach and coral flowers and portraits beneath the trees.
Camille & Antoine. My most recent wedding at Larchey, in August 2022. Camille wore an elegant white suit, the ceremony took place beneath an arch of gypsophila in the gardens, and the evening ended on a joyful dance floor.
