An Engagement Photoshoot at the Dune du Pilat
This month, I am delighted to share the story of this couple photoshoot at the Dune du Pilat. It had to be told, because it put our resilience and our fitness to the test! Let’s head to Arcachon Bay with Marie-Clémence and Joffrey!
A Couple Photoshoot You Have to Earn!
The future newlyweds first contacted me at the very start of the health crisis, in March 2020, to ask me to be their wedding photographer.
Keen on having couple photos taken before their wedding, they wanted to do this engagement session with me at the Dune du Pilat.
So Marie-Clémence and Joffrey booked a date for their couple photoshoot at the Dune du Pyla, but held back on booking their wedding photos.
In the meantime, the first lockdown and Joffrey’s work as a gendarme meant the couple had to move the date of their engagement session. After several months of patience, we finally managed to take their couple photos in August.
Much to my regret, I could not be there for their wedding, as another couple had already booked that date. Marie-Clémence and Joffrey had taken a risk from the start by not confirming the booking of my wedding photography.
Even so, I am truly happy to have captured their love and tenderness on the heights above Arcachon Bay and the forest of the Landes de Gascogne.
A sporty couple session at the Dune du Pilat!
This couple photoshoot at the Dune du Pilat was a first for me. In my five years as a wedding photographer, it had never happened before! So thank you, Marie-Clémence and Joffrey, for giving me this privilege.
Taking photos at the Dune du Pilat, I must admit, is quite a workout! But I am always ready to make an effort to get beautiful images that make my couples happy. At least I got some cardio in! Now you can see why I said this session had to be earned!
Hiring a Photographer for an Engagement Session
An engagement session is an important moment in the life of two people who love each other and are ready to marry. First of all, because the couple photos symbolise the union of two people before the official commitment of marriage.
These photos can also be used for your wedding invitations, or become a photo album or a print to frame.
An engagement session can also give you a couple photo to offer to your parents and parents-in-law, as a thank-you for their support or their love.
As a Fine Art photographer, what I love is the magical blend of the place’s atmosphere, its natural light, the couple’s aura and their emotions.
A word from the couple
Marie-Clémence and Joffrey gave me a wonderful time in their company. At ease in front of my camera and with me around, they were very romantic. On their little cloud of love, the couple blended perfectly into the natural landscape of the Dune du Pilat, between forest, sand and water.
A beautiful sense of fulfilment, and the connection between the two of them and with their surroundings, brought out the best in my Fine Art photos.
Thank you both for this crazy adventure. I wish you a wedding as wonderful as your love and your kindness. And a thousand thanks for your moving testimonial (translated from French):
"Tristan is an artist! Because of the health crisis, we had to postpone our engagement session twice, and we are so happy it was finally able to take place… A man passionate about his work and about people, extremely kind and extremely professional. Words fail us as we discover the photos just two days after the session!!! He braved the climb up and down, then up and down the Dune du Pyla again, to take magnificent photos, and even that word doesn’t do them justice! We are truly charmed by his work. Book him, you won’t regret it!!! Thank you, Tristan, for a moment that will stay engraved in our memories. Never change!"
