Eugénie and Robin’s Emotional Wedding at Château Goudichaud

It is with a great deal of emotion that I tell you the story of my photographs of Eugénie and Robin’s love, and of their wedding at Château Goudichaud.

It all began at the end of September 2017 with an engagement session. It took place at the Parc Majolan, in a late-summer atmosphere with the first hints of autumn colour. I discovered a young couple deeply in love, close and rather reserved. The lovely Marie-France of Artmania Fleur had made a delicate flower crown and a small matching bouquet for the occasion.

A few months later, Eugénie and Robin wanted to exchange their vows in complete privacy, and they wanted a keepsake of that moment. So I joined them at Domaine de l’Amourette in Tizac-de-Curton, not far from Bordeaux. This very pretty gîte full of character was beautifully decorated and set in the middle of the vines. It was one of those moments suspended in time that I love so much.

The very next day, I met our two lovebirds again to photograph their civil wedding at the Palais Rohan, Bordeaux City Hall. As usual, they had both chosen new outfits for the occasion, different, of course, from the ones they would wear the following day: their big day, with the church wedding and the party that followed.

I remember how the emotion caught Eugénie by surprise. She had expected a very simple moment at the City Hall, perhaps without surprises. It turned out quite differently! The magnificent room set aside for the occasion and the quality of the civil ceremony deeply touched the couple, and their families too.

As the gardens were not open that day, they chose to pose in the traditional way on the steps of Bordeaux City Hall.

At last, 14 July arrived, and Eugénie and Robin each got ready away from the other’s eyes. Robin went back to Domaine de l’Amourette, while Eugénie got ready in another gîte, in Saint-Quentin-de-Baron. The talented Maëlle Poveda, wedding hairdresser and barber in Bordeaux, joined her for her preparations.

Eugénie also called on Marie-France of Artmania once again, a sensitive and brilliant wedding florist in Bordeaux.

Naturally discerning, Eugénie trusted the Soierie de Bordeaux almost without a second thought for her superb haute couture wedding gown, by the well-known label Rembo Styling!

After a drive of around half an hour, the religious ceremony took place in the beautiful Saint-Martial church, in the Chartrons district of Bordeaux. The atmosphere was especially joyful, thanks in particular to the very warm and kindly priest.

The Celebration Continues at Château Goudichaud

Then, in a green vintage 2CV, our two lovebirds set off for Saint-Germain-du-Puch to reach Château Goudichaud.

Once again, they shared an intimate, tender moment among the vines, while the guests arrived at a relaxed pace at this beautiful estate.

After a long cocktail hour, expertly prepared and served by Traiteur Philys, the evening could begin. Between each course, the couple’s families and witnesses kept the evening lively, with great warmth and kindness.
