An Outdoor Family Photoshoot in Bordeaux, at the Parc Bordelais
Spring invites us to pause and take time for ourselves, for our relationship and for our family. Julie and Bastien had wanted this outdoor family photoshoot for months. Here is the story of their family session in Bordeaux: natural, gentle and just a little mischievous.
A Lifestyle Family Photoshoot: Love, Laughter and Natural Moments
Julie and Bastien prepared a few months ahead to make this outdoor family photoshoot a perfect moment.
For their family session, they chose the Parc Bordelais. This green, wooded space is in the Caudéran district.
It is the largest park in the city of Bordeaux. Caudéran is a family neighbourhood, so it is common to see families out for a walk there. I go there often for lifestyle family photoshoots, and I tell you more about that in the second part of this article.
Before the session, Julie called on Cyrielle Delas for her make-up and hair. Julie and Bastien followed my advice for their outfits and for those of Margaux and Arthur: light, plain colours.
The children were adorable, despite their young age. For the second part of the shoot, I chose a spot away from passers-by, so that the parents would feel even more at ease.
Julie was very moved when she saw the photos, which made me very happy!

When to have an outdoor family photoshoot?
If you would like an outdoor family photoshoot in Bordeaux, book it for spring or early summer. Bright photos bathed in soft morning sunshine are always best.
Morning light stays the softest: shadows are more diffuse, which helps faces relax. Children are also less tired in the morning than in the afternoon, when the heat can be exhausting, especially for the little ones.
Outdoor photos taken in summer at the end of the day, around 6 or 7 pm, are also very interesting for the light. The falling light of late afternoon creates a lovely sunset atmosphere: perfect for a lifestyle family photoshoot!
