A maternity photoshoot is a lovely way to reveal the bond between two people as they await the happy arrival of a child. As a maternity photographer on Arcachon Bay, I would like to share a glimpse of my work with Stéphanie and Yann’s session at the Réservoirs de Piraillan.
A Maternity Photoshoot at the Réservoirs de Piraillan
The Réservoirs de Piraillan are a protected natural area on the shores of Arcachon Bay, in the commune of Lège-Cap-Ferret.
It is a place where you feel truly connected to nature, which makes it perfect for beautiful couple and maternity photos. This is where I suggested Stéphanie and Yann come to capture Stéphanie’s baby bump. It also gave the couple a chance to enjoy a moment of closeness, just the two of them.
As a maternity photographer on Arcachon Bay, I always love introducing parents-to-be to this magical place.
Stéphanie and Yann: the story of their photoshoot on Arcachon Bay
Stéphanie got in touch with me in the winter to plan a couple photoshoot on Arcachon Bay with her partner, Yann. We chose early March for their session.
She wanted to kill two birds with one stone: an engagement session that would also celebrate her pregnancy with their first child.
I suggested she bring a beautiful, loose, unstructured bouquet, and Sarah of SDSQ made one for her in white and yellow tones. The lovely surprise was that Sarah had added mimosa to the bouquet, and on the day of the shoot we found mimosa blooming everywhere at the Réservoirs de Piraillan! They were very lucky, because a fortnight later there was hardly any left: the mimosa had flowered very early that year.
In the end, the bouquet was in perfect harmony with their outfits and with the natural setting!
We ended the session nearby, in the village of L’Herbe, among its cabins by the water.

In the Gironde, and in Bordeaux in particular, we are lucky to have beautiful green spaces. The Parc Bordelais, in Bordeaux-Caudéran, is an ideal place for an outdoor maternity photoshoot, because it is so richly wooded. The shady corners beneath its majestic trees are treasure troves of natural backdrops for my photos.
Another fantastic place in Bordeaux is the Réserve écologique des Barails: an incredible natural site covering 156 hectares, which makes it the largest natural area in Bordeaux. Here too, couple photos are enhanced by generous nature.
